English painter and collage artist, born 24 February 1922 in London. His work "Just What Is It that Makes Today's Homes So Different, So Appealing?", from 1956 is considered to have suggested to art historians the definition Pop Art (from the word Pop collaged in it). Other famous works of his include his typographic version of Marcel Duchamp's "The Bride Stripped Bare by her Bachelors, Even" published in 1960, "Swingeing London 67", a series of prints based on a newspaper photograph depicting Mick Jagger and (art dealer) Robert Fraser arrest for possession of drugs, and his cover design and poster for The Beatles' "White Album".
