Allegory Chapel Ltd.

A solo project of ELDEN M (aka M.N.L.F.), an American noise guita- rist associated with death/black metal circles. He started out in 1984 with unsophisticated compositions clearly inspired by Lou REED’s Metal Machine Music (BMG Music 1975). However, with time his works gradually involved more diverse forms of artistic expression. At the turn of 1980s and 1990s, he organised many live shows in the USA and actively promoted extreme Japanese industrial noise. Very active in the first half of the 1990s, he collaborated with numerous artists like CARBON 14, Mayuko HINO, AMBER ASYLUM, TORTURE CHORUS, TRANCE, LOVE FORCE (with Monte CAZAZZA), The HATERS, BIG CITY ORCHESTRA. The second half of the 1990s saw him reduce his activities, and, under the A.C.L. name (ALPHA-CLASS LIBERTINE), he only rarely performs nowadays. His works often refer to satanic philosophy and occult iconography. They are concerned with strong discontent and disregard of the culture factors that determine human existence. His fascination with suppressed passions which were in conflict with the conservative social patterns was expressed with extreme and cacophonous guitar sound combined with completely distorted syn- thesizer textures. He also used to run his own label called ACLMX in the late 1980s.
